total rubbish and a waste of internet space
If ths lights up when I get owned then I might need a few spare bulbs
If I can play as Button and run Hamilton and Alonso off the track and still go from last to first then I'm happy!
I agree its not really a community like CSS on steam.
Activistion should say - the best spending community because they always buy more of our shovel DLC.
What concerns me is that the model for distributing games is heading for this digital 'bit part, buy a part every now and again route which just taps your wallet.
I know that there is not a gun to my head to buy, but its tricky when all your friends get a map pack and you haven't.
EA and activistion are trying it on now. COD Elite is a worrying trend for me. Are we going to get the stage in a few years of pay to play? or the game you buy is just the ...
For me...
Half Life 1 and 2 had some great levels.
Unreal
Batman on the speccy 128K
Turrican 2 on the Amiga
Also have to agree with Archangelmike on COD 4 Gillies in the mist as it was a cool level.
I remember first playing sonic on a display stand in WH Smith in 91 and thinking it was amazing at the time. Now I have it on my iPhone for retro MegaDrive action.
Oh yeah.
Looking forward to getting me some boomshot action with the boys.
Giving and trading weapons is a nice touch as it encourages team play.
For me 30fps is ok as long as its stable but i'd prefer the smoother 60fps, but that is not really an option for most console games. Forza and COD manage it because they dont have so much environmental post processing as is becoming the norm on modern games.
To be honest I dont mind that COD is a little lacking in visual fidelity as it runs like the clappers on my xbox which is always a boom for that fast gameplay style which it does excel at. Hopefully on the next gen h...
I don't think it will change that much. Devs might shift priority if a gap opens up in terms of lead system.
I'm not concerned. I have all 3 systems and appreciate them all for their relevant strengths although I lean heavily towards my Xbox.
We should be glad that there are competing systems. Sony joined because Nintendo and Sega were making dosh. Microsoft joined bc Nin and Sony were making a killing and it took them 2 systems to get into the market...
@Si-Fly
Thats a bit harsh mate. No need for name calling. Did I insult your mother or something? This is a games site. I'm not a fanboy, just having an opinion. Is it because I dared mention the Xbox on here? (I own PS3 as well btw).
Ok to be fair I meant Eden not epic. And given that I've played the Beta and now the full game for a couple of hours I think I am qualified to have an opinion on my first impressions vs the 90 hrs approx I have invested i...
Hey guys I don't want to rain on the parade but you might want to not get your hopes up too high on this game.
I'm a massive TDU1 fan having played the whole thing on xbox (just got the all roads acheivement last night finally).
I've been able to have a go for a hour on the pc version already and I have to say that whilst its good there are issues especially with the vehicle control and handling and the sound of the cars even compared to the first...
YES of course it does.
Stupid fu#king question of all time. If anyone possibly thinks GT5 doesn't need crashes and damage then look at this
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
If Mark Webber can stack it at 150mph then so can you and this should be always reflected in the game with damage.
Rewind options in single player actually help as they show you how yo...
@Garos82.
Fair play. I've only had GT5 a day and FM3 for over a year. But I did consider this before commenting. I also looked at IGN's comments and examined these myself in the game to see If I agreed with them first.
Also I'm not saying FM3 is better or that GT5 is rubbish - I like GT5 to a point. I'm saying that GT5 doesn't do everything as perfectly as PP or Sony had made out. Surely you must see that already If you have played it eve...
@thief
"Referring to most of the reviews" - Have you played the game???? It can tear badly in high volume scenes. If you've not played then I'm really suprised you had the thought to make that comment.
"Physics
I am not talking about your or mine point of view - its about the reviews, and most reviews admit that GT5 is the best simulation by far, and still score it low. Read Joystiq for instance"
- Ok the ...
@T9X69
mate you are balanced and sensible in almost every comment you make. I agree.
I have played many a 'shit' game only to end up loving it.
Reviews for me are really about knowing the technical defects. Worth and value and playability are decided by me.
@thief
You make good points but my reponse would be.
Graphics + Car modelling
- yes but only on new tracks and premium cars. Also near 1080p is pointless is you get low framerate and screen tearing.
Physics, car handling
-The physics and car handling system in FM3 is the most advanced available and having played both I think the GT5 model is close but not quite as raw.
Content (number of tracks, cars)
As an owner of both major games and consoles all I would say to the above comments are:
Quality not quantity
Balance between graphics resolution/ poly assets vs. framerate and vsync.
Actual real world performance vs. Hype
Its good verging on great but not godly, not matching the hype, not matching PP ambition.
@T9X69
I agree with you. I think that the hype has over promised on this game and PolyPhony's ideas were greater than the PS3 can manage. The load times are not great and all of IGN's comments about textures, framerate, standard cars, damage and AI are all correct.
I think the consoles memory and RSX is holding PP dreams back. They have concentrated on the premium cars detail so much that the trackside textures and framerate suffers. The RSX isn't...
Does reading pointless drivel like this article make me feel like I've wasted my time?
Yes.
